Iran .. The United Nations records serious violations against children

On Monday, a UN committee urged Iran to stop committing “severe abuses” against youngsters in its effort to stifle the nation’s protest movement.
In a statement, the Child Rights Committee stated that “severe abuses of children’s rights in Iran must be the subject of an exhaustive investigation by independent and neutral authorities.


According to the group, recent peaceful protests resulted in at least 23 children being killed, injured, detained, or subjected to torture by Iranian security forces.
Amnesty International said on October 14 that Iran has killed at least 23 youngsters while repressing the protests.
The UN Rights Committee condemned the “severe violations of the rights of the child in Iran in the context of the peaceful protests that followed the death of a missionary Amene” after its arrest.

Three days after being detained by the Ethics Police for breaking Iran’s severe clothing code, a young Iranian Kurdish woman, 22, died, protests broke out on September 16.
According to the committee, which cited trustworthy sources, some of the children had access to live ammunition while others passed away from brutal beatings.

According to the statement’s addition, “many families indicated that despite their deep sadness over the loss of a child, they felt forced to free the security forces by falsely confessing to the suicide of their kid.”
The committee also voiced its serious worry regarding facts it reported on the custody of minors with adults, their torture, and their arrest in schools.

According to the committee, “the Ministry of Instruction’s announcement on October 12 to transfer the imprisoned children to medical and psychological institutions for reform and education in order to avoid non-social, as well as information that the expulsion of pupils of revenge,” raises considerable worry.
The committee, made up of 18 unaffiliated specialists, urged the Iranian government to “put a halt to any brutality against minors.”
