In this context, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed emphasised that the UAE will exert every effort to stop the crisis from getting worse and to foster an environment conducive to calm and negotiation for the benefit of all parties. He also emphasised that the serious repercussions of the Ukrainian crisis go beyond Russia and Ukraine and affect all of the world, having a detrimental impact on the global economy, security, and peace.
While speaking with the president of Ukraine, the president of the UAE expressed appreciation for the state’s role as a mediator in humanitarian matters, food security, etc., and emphasised that the state was ready to continue its efforts and support initiatives that lessen the humanitarian and economic effects of the crisis.
The two presidents also congratulated one another on the 30th anniversary of the beginning of diplomatic relations between the UAE and Ukraine, expressing their hopes that these ties would continue to grow and prosper in order to advance their shared interests and fulfil the aspirations of their respective peoples.
