Ghost Walks’ tour offers supernatural spook in Hamilton, Niagara ahead of Halloween

A local ghost guide says he can’t guarantee participants will see a spirit on one of many visits to the most haunted places in Hamilton and Niagara Region, but there is chance.
No, I wouldn’t be a millionaire if I could (promise that), said Ghost Walks tour guide Daniel Cumerlato to 900 CHML’s Good Morning Hamilton.

It’s a busy time for Ghost Walk’s tours with paranormal believers seeking stories of alleged sordid truths behind horrible deeds and tragic accidents across municipalities in Canada with Halloween just weeks away.
The shrieking tunnel in Niagara, the Hermitage ruins in Ancaster, and a few tales about the Dark Lady, Hamilton’s oldest known ghost are just a few of the local attractions.

She is thought to reside in the Custom House downtown, which many people consider to be Hamilton’s most haunted structure and was referred to as the “devil himself” in an 18th-century ballad.
Cumerlato claims he has never actually seen her, but he is adamant that a previous inquiry shows motions on a Ouija board.
He recalls that “she made the connection.”

“I asked her why she was upset, and she replied, ‘poetry,’ so I made a promise to her that we wouldn’t read the poem again. Things then started to quiet down a little.
The apparition chaperone says his interest in ghost walking dates back to 1999 and a visit to the Bellevue Mansion on Belvidere Avenue near the escarpment.

According to Cumerlato, “We had some images of the location prior to their demolishing it, and that was the very first article I ever wrote… the history and the ghost stories surrounding that house.”
At the time, he claimed to have video evidence of energy remaining on the deserted land, including flashes of light and orbs, which parapsychologists use to confirm the presence of ghosts.
As a result, he stated, “from that day on, I realised I truly enjoyed the history and ghost stories.

Four years later, in Hamilton, Ghost Walks was launched. Today, it is promoted by a little store on Queen Street in Niagara-on-the-Lake, which is referred to as “the most haunted town” in Canada.
There are year-round tours that range between 75 and 90 minutes that stop at historic and spooky locations all across the GTHA.
Ghostwalks.com offers online booking for walks.

Before Halloween, Hamilton, Niagara’s Ghost Walks tour provides ghostly fright.
