Saudi Aramco creates the areas of manufacturing platforms and marine structures

The National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) and McDermut International have joined forces with Saudi Aramco to construct two maritime manufacturing zones to build and gather platforms and marine structures in the Kingdom.

In a statement released today, Monday, Aramco stated that this fits with the company’s plan to support the maritime sectors, which is accomplished through the activities of the King Salman International Complex for Industries and Marine Services.

In addition to offering significant investment potential for financial and operational value, the company anticipates that this will help with the cost and effectiveness of the supply chain, as well as with the settlement of supply and service systems, increased efficiency, and lower costs.

Ras Al-Khair will establish the two new regions in accordance with international standards. The project also intends to utilise the most recent technologies in this area to support the needs of the Kingdom, the Gulf region, and other areas.

The facilities are projected to begin operations by the third quarter of 2023 AD, with a production capacity of roughly 70,000 metric tonnes per year. When fully operational, these regions are anticipated to create a large number of direct and indirect jobs, with a targeted Saudization rate of 70%.

Ahmed Al-Saadi, Saudi Aramco’s Supreme Vice President of Technical Services, commented on this by saying: “The creation of the two regions represents another addition to the infrastructure development projects in the marine fields of Saudi Aramco, and that works to support supplies security while attempting to improve local content at the same time, and to localise technologies. And the growth of local capacities and expertise, as well as the two new regions, are anticipated to contribute to the provision of an integrated set of marine products and services, which may help to support the national economy and enhance diversity through advanced investments and infrastructure with the aim of supporting the Kingdom and the global marine business system.

“It is intended for the new maritime industrial zones to try to enhance the expansion and economic diversification in the Kingdom, to take use of the enormous opportunities to create value, and to also strive to contribute to attaining the targets of the desired national vision,” Al-Saadi continued.

The sophisticated infrastructure in Ras Al-Khair, which includes the Ras Al-Khair Port and the King Salman International Complex for Industries and Marine Services, is anticipated to assist marine manufacturing regions.

The areas of manufacturing platforms and marine constructions are created by Saudi Aramco.
