Ghada Wali: Organized crime was frequent during the Cofide-19 period

The Cofide-19 period saw a resurgence of organised crime, including human trafficking, migrant smuggling, and other forms, according to Ghada Wali, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. She urged for international cooperation to combat these issues.

This statement was made at the beginning of the eleventh session of the COP11 to combat drug and crime, which is being held this week in Vienna with the participation of 117 registered delegations, 874 delegates from member states, and more than 100 observers.

Ghada Wali, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, called in her speech to pay attention to the Coveyd-19 crisis, noting that she had accelerated criminal activity, and urged governments to follow a multilateral approach in combating organized crime.
Ambassador Ghada Wali wished Ambassador Mohamed Al-Balah many luck and thanked him for his leadership over the past two years despite the various challenges.
