German Foreign Ministry: We have received about 26,000 Afghan since the Taliban seized power

According to the German Foreign Ministry, Berlin has continued to support the Afghan people by delivering humanitarian aid and receiving roughly 26,000 Afghan local employees who were in danger after the Taliban seized power in Afghanistan in August 2021.

In a statement, the German ministry said that the German federal government is working to finish what it began with the Federal Admission Program. It emphasised that Germany has established a balanced programme with the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development’s involvement and in a dialogue with civil society organisations.

The Federal Minister of Interior, Nancy Fisr, confirmed the persistence of this strategy when she stated that Germany is operating in accordance with its humanitarian obligations.
She added that Germany has set an organized future framework based on the standards specified for admission, which enables it to provide protection for people at risk and weak in Afghanistan..
