The Booker Award winner will be revealed today, and one of the six hopefuls will receive the prize, as the Awards Foundation hosts its first significant event since 2019.
The honour may go to Alan Garner, 88, the oldest novelist nominated at all.
Dua Lipa, a singer and songwriter, will read a letter on her love of reading at the Roundhouse event, and the late Hillary Mantle, the Baker winner, will get double honours.
Mantle, who received a lot of praise last month at the age of 70 for two of his works from the Wolf Hall trilogy and twice won the Booker Prize.
According to the BBC, Jarner, whose birthday is on Monday, is anticipated to show up by default at the evening concert along with the other six authors who made the final list.
Nile McGregor, the head of the 2022 rulers, stated of the six novels on the short list, “It is not simple books, although it may be brief.”
