In another context, the United States of America and Sweden announced the signing of a military cooperation agreement with Washington for the purpose of supporting their military capabilities, due to Washington’s desire to control the Antarctic region with some security concerns surrounding the Arctic.

General James McCaconville, Chief of Staff of the US Army, for his part, asserted that cooperation between Washington and Stockholm at this point is of utmost importance, particularly in light of the dangers that threaten the Arctic and a quality with Sweden, and that the US will defend its ally because it has vast military experience in this area.

Karl Engelicson, the commander-in-chief of the Swedish army, said that while discussing the war, a close connection with the United States is not necessarily a bad thing.
It is noteworthy that Finland and Sweden on the 18th of May submitted a request to join NATO against the backdrop of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, which was rejected by Turkey until Sweden and Finland signed on June 29 for the security memorandum that guarantees Ankara’s concerns.

On October 6, all save Turkey and Hungary voted in favour of the northern European nations’ desire to join the alliance.
