Today, Monday, Sky News Arabia announced that the official swearing-in ceremony for the new Iraqi president has begun.
During the official acceptance of his duties, Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid is set to give a speech in the presidential palace.
Abdul Latif Rashid was charged with the new Iraqi president, Shi’a Al -Sudani, to form the new Iraqi government.
Abdul Latif Rashid was elected president of the republic on Thursday by the Iraqi Council of Representatives following a second voting round.
Rashid was elected with the support of 162 deputies as opposed to 99 for Barham Saleh, the incumbent president, while 8 votes were deemed invalid.
Following Rashid’s victory, the new Iraqi president was assuming office as the House of Representatives raised its session.
The official taking-over of duties by the new Iraqi president was marked by a ceremony.
