FIFA suspends the Indian Federation’s membership… The explanation for this is external interference.

FIFA announced in a statement that its council unanimously resolved to suspend the Indian Football Association’s membership due to excessive intervention from a third party, which represents a severe violation of FIFA regulations.
The Indian Federation is in disarray as a result of former President Praful Patil’s decision to continue in office after his term ended and without holding fresh elections, which the courts ruled was unlawful.

Following the acceptance of an official schedule by the Indian Supreme Court, new elections are set to be place on the 28th of this month, with voting commencing last week.
The U-17 Women’s World Cup was slated to take place in India in 2020, but it was postponed due to the impact of the Corona virus until this year, from October 11 to October 30.

And FIFA added that due to the consequences of freezing the Indian Federation’s membership, this year’s competition will not be held in India as planned, while emphasising that it is in constant and constructive contact with India’s Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, hoping for a positive outcome.
Former men’s national team captain Baichung Butea told Sports Star that FIFA’s sentence was “very severe.”

At the same time, I feel it is a tremendous chance to rectify our system, and it is vital that all stakeholders, including federations, government associations, and the Ministry of Sports, come together to work on the appropriate system and for everyone to work for sport growth, he added.
The men’s and women’s national teams are not authorised to play any international matches for juniors or adults during the suspension term, according to FIFA’s decision.

In addition, Indian clubs will be forbidden from participating in the AFC Women’s Club Championship, AFC Cup, and AFC Champions League.
Sunil Chhetri, India’s captain, encouraged his players not to worry about the possibility of a FIFA ban because it is out of their control.

According to FIFA, the suspension would be lifted if an order to create a committee of administrators to take over the powers of the Indian Federation’s Executive Committee and restore full control of its day-to-day operations was rescinded.
