I know the details of the discovery of a huge mosaic in Rastan, Syria

A sizable Roman mosaic has been found in Syria, marking what some experts have dubbed the nation’s most significant archaeological find in the previous 20 years.
Outside of Homs, Syria’s third-largest city, in the village of Rastan, the mosaic was discovered. Rastan was a key anti-government bastion and the scene of some of the worst battles between the Syrian army and the rebels. In 2018, the Syrian government reclaimed the area with a significant cultural legacy.

According to Syrian officials, the mosaic was discovered during an excavation by the Syrian Directorate of Antiquities and Museums at one of the former rebel sites. The historical property – dating back to the fourth century AD – was purchased by Syrian and Lebanese businessmen affiliated with the Nabo Museum in Lebanon and was donated to the Syrian state, this came, according to Art News.

Each mosaic plate, which covers an area of around 1,300 square feet, is decorated with tiny colourful stones that resemble the Roman mythological Amazon warriors.

“We have no rare discovery on a global scale,” said Hammam Saad, Assistant Director for Excavation and Archaeological Research in the Directorate, “and the pictures are rich in detail and include episodes of the Trojan war, in addition to a photography of the Romanian goddess Neptune and 40 of his mistresses.”

We haven’t finished the excavation, so we can’t tell if the structure is a public bathhouse or something else, said Hammam Saad.

I am aware of the specifics surrounding the discovery of a sizable mosaic in Rastan, Syria.
