The head of the Poultry Division, Dr. Abdulaziz Al -Sayed, said that what is happening in the poultry sector is a major crisis and has exacerbated during the current period.
He continued by saying that the production requirement deficit had increased to 50% and that 15% of it had recently been released from customs.
He stated that there is a 50% shortage of supplies for poultry growing and added that even though 15% of that amount was released, it did not help to end the situation.
In a comparable context, the Egyptian Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Al-Qusayr, said that scenes of chicks being put to death spread as an isolated incident, but he did not dispute that the poultry industry was experiencing a crisis.
He emphasised that the present global crisis had resulted in decreased shipping and supply operations for commodities like corn and soybeans as well as lower shipping and insurance costs.
It is important to note that MP Mujahid Nassar, a member of the House of Representatives and the Industry Committee in Parliament, requested a briefing from the Central Bank Governor and from the Ministers of Trade and Industry, Finance, and Planning and Economic Development regarding the ongoing crisis of insufficient materials and production requirements and its effects on active and operating factories.
Representative Mujahid Nassar said, in the request for briefing submitted by it, that the Egyptian national industry is subject to a major crisis, and the Egyptian factories suffer from a lack of materials, production requirements and spare parts since the issuance of the Central Bank’s instructions in February 2022 to stop dealing with collection documents in the implementation of all import operations and work with credits The documentary’s sole purpose is to lower imports of commodities and products, safeguard domestic industries, and aid small, medium, and microprojects.
The central bank, in particular, must support the industry, meet its needs, pay attention to factory owners’ demands, and take the necessary high measures to resolve these crises and address the shortage of raw materials and supplies, said a member of the industry committee in parliament. These conditions are experienced by the industry, the national economy, and the international conditions of the global economy. Production to run factories and return to production, emphasising that everyone should work and get past any barriers in the industrial sector to help the state, led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, accomplish its strategic aim.
