The US State Department: The United States provides Europe with 70% of its exports of LNG

Jeffrey Payat, the US Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources, disclosed that the US sends 70% of its LNG to Europe.
He claimed that Washington is utilising its export capabilities to provide Europe’s gas requirements.
“The fact that the United States will be the largest liquefied gas resource in the world this year, 70% of our exports are directed to Europe,” TASS quoted Payat as saying.

Earlier, the director of the European Monetary Fund, Alfred Camer, said that the full endowment of gas flows from Russia to Europe, in addition to the cold winter, can lead to a lack of gas consumption and rationalization, which causes losses in the gross domestic product of up to 3 % in several nations of Europe.
