In preparation for the start of the Thirteenth African Cooperation Cooperative Council conference, with the theme “Together for the Development of Africa,” which is held for the first time in Egypt from October 17 to October 20, 2022, the councils of the International Cooperative Cooperation Alliance, the African Cooperative Alliance, and International Housing Cooperatives continued their preparatory meetings for a second day in a row.

For his part, Sherif Hammouda, Chairman and Managing Director of GV Urban Development, emphasised the significance of these sessions in reviewing the various cooperative experiences at the level of the African continent, expressing his pride in the Egyptian experience, which serves as a role model in this regard, particularly given that The General Authority for Building and Housing Cooperatives in Egypt has numerous partnerships with various real estate development organisations.

It is important to note that the conference will have scientific sessions, workshops, seminars, and lectures, as well as the presentation of successful cooperative experiences and projects from Egypt, the Arab world, Africa, and the rest of the world, and interactive conversations about them.

Under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development, it is planned to hold the first training programme in Africa to qualify young leadership cadres in the field of cooperative housing, with the participation of the continent’s youth. The best 5 cooperative projects will be honoured at the continent level, and they will represent 5 regions of the north East, west, south, and central Africa.

The Thirteenth African Cooperative Ministers’ Conference will be launched by the Minister of Housing tomorrow.
