One of those in charge of this problem said during the video’s production that the shift “must be tightened for the chicks to die soon.” Videos showed a group of people putting the “chicks” inside together and then sealing them.
And these videos sparked a great deal of ire among Twitter users who saw this as a crime that needed to be punished. Others demanded that the government step in to save the poultry industry, which is currently experiencing a major crisis due to a lack of fodder and the high cost of what little there is available, which exposes the owners of poultry farms to significant losses.
Due to worldwide unrest and irregularities in freight operations, Egypt is currently experiencing a feed crisis. As a result, there is a severe shortage of corn, soybeans, and other feed ingredients.
The Council of Ministers met on Sunday to talk about this issue and the state of the poultry business in general.

Al-Qusayr claimed in broadcast remarks that the videos showing the execution of chicks on social media are isolated incidents, but he also acknowledged that the poultry business is in danger.
He emphasised that Egypt is a part of the world and is affected by that crisis like the other countries, but it is not necessary to exaggerate the depiction of the matter that there are collective executions of poultry breeders of the chicks, as it is just an individual case. He also emphasised that this crisis is caused by the global conditions that obstructed the import and shipping operations.
It should be highlighted that according to the statistics at hand, Egypt now has a rate of feed deficiency greater than 50% compared to the necessary poultry farms.
This crisis resulted in a significant increase in the prices of poultry meat in Egypt, where the price of a kilo of it reached equivalent to 3 dollars, while the price of eggs reached nearly a quarter of a dollar per egg.
As a result, the price of a kilo of meat surpassed $10 due to the high cost of cattle meat given that the feed problem also affected it.
Egypt’s government is acting in response to the outcry surrounding “the death of chicks.”
