On the Lebanese black market, the dollar exchange rate changed a little bit during today’s trading, Sunday, October 16, 2022.
The movement occurs within a small range after the dollar reached the mark of 40.000 LBP during trading yesterday and went above it for the first time in Lebanon’s history.

After exceeding the level of 40 thousand pounds during trading on Saturday, the price of the dollar decreased on Sunday in Lebanon’s unofficial (black) parallel market to reach 39900 and 39950 pounds per one dollar.
It should be noted that 1507 Lebanese pounds are the official value of one dollar.
The price of the dollar today in Lebanon on the black market reached 38 thousand and 600 pounds, while the selling price reached 38 thousand and 700 pounds per US dollar.

In comparison to the Lebanese lira used by the cashier, the value of the US dollar increased today, reaching 20 thousand, 950 pounds for purchases and 20 thousand, 850 pounds for sales.
Through a banking system, the exchange rate between the dollar and the Turkish lira was set at 29,800 Lebanese pounds.
The Central Bank of Lebanon announced a new exchange rate for withdrawing from dollar deposits in Lebanese pounds at 8,000 pounds for the dollar.

The monastery is that the lira lost a majority of its value due to the financial collapse that entered its third year and led to the outbreak of poverty between the builders, in addition to the paralysis of the banking system, and the freezing of the savings of depositors.
Despite a roughly threefold rise in salary for all public sector employees, many of them still make less than $50 per month.
