According to the office of the official spokesman for the armed forces, “The Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces reviewed with senior leaders the current political position and affirmed the fixed position of the armed forces on the stability and security cases of the country in light of the current challenges.”
Brigadier Nabil Abdullah, the military’s spokesperson, explained in a statement that this occurred today, Sunday, in front of the Armed Forces Command Authority, the main force commanders, the general inspector, directors of departments, branches, colleges, military bases, and senior officers with the rank of brigadier and above, as well as leaders of Units and formations within the capital.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces emphasised the determination to keep the military establishment out of the political conflict and expressed his hope that the political forces would be successful in reaching a level of agreement that would allow them to overcome the problems facing the nation and finish the transitional period under the rule of independent non-party competencies that would take the nation to the polls.
