Nigeria: Borno State Police includes 1800 policemen to combat Boko Haram

According to the Borno State Police Command, it has added roughly 1,800 policemen to support the security forces’ anti-terrorism activities.
Abdo Omar, the police commissioner, disclosed that the new volunteers are currently receiving instructions on how to carry out their tasks.
According to Omar, the police officers would be properly deployed in their local communities within the state’s 27 local regions to preserve community security.

He said that the federal government’s Community Police Plan was a wholly voluntary programme that trained and integrated people with pre-paid professions who wanted to use their free time to assist the police in their obligations within their various communities.

He clarified that among their responsibilities will be helping the Nigerian police with dispute resolution, intelligence gathering, and the detection and prevention of criminal activity.
Other roles included the preservation of law and order, to complete traditional police officers in conducting patrols in the common public space, and advising the public on safety, as well as working with the stakeholders concerned regarding crime control.

The number of other sister security services that combat terrorism and other crimes has also expanded, he claimed. “We have already deployed 10 police officers in all local government agency,” the official declared.
“The police will soon be able to see everywhere,” he claimed. One day, everything will be in black and white. Their teams on our police are their slogan and badges.

“The Police Commissioner acknowledged that his officers will conduct in-depth raids on offenders to “disappointment” them and improve their appearance in an effort to prevent them from committing crimes.
