Study: The method of sleep may be “the strongest indication” of the time of death

This conclusion was reached after reviewing 12,000 studies that examined various aspects of people as they slept, such as chin, leg, breathing, and cardiac movements. The study was just published in the journal “Digital Medicine.”

In modern research, scientists, including a professor at Stanford Emmanuel Minot, have developed a system that uses automated learning technology to predict “a person’s sleep” and determine the differences in sleep that are closely related to deaths.
According to the British Independent newspaper, past study has shown that sleep is one of the first things to experience numerous interruptions, which may be a sign of favourable circumstances.

Scientists used Parkinson’s disease patients as an example, noting that, in most cases, these patients behave violently in dreams roughly 5 to 10 years before the other symptoms manifest.
The latest research determined that the “strongest evidence” of the deaths was a “segmentation of sleep,” which occurs when people briefly awaken numerous times throughout the course of the night without remembering it.

According to the experts, this kind of sleep disorder is distinct from others that are believed to occur after a person understands that they have woken up, like insomnia and sleep breathing.
The exact relationship between “sleep fragmentation” and the risk of mortality, according to scientists, is unknown.
In a statement, Dr. Minot said: “We intend to do further research to identify the mechanism underlying the serious harm caused by sleep fragmentation in health.

” In the research, scientists have identified the average sleep shape at a certain age, then used the automated learning system to assess patterns in individuals’ data in 12,000 studies and used it to predict their sleep age.
Based on the concept that the progression of sleep is a sign of a health problem, the researchers predicted the mortality rate of persons using the difference between their age and sleep.

Researchers came to the conclusion that a high sleep age is frequently reflected in a “increase in sleep fragmentation,” which suggests that it is a sign of future health.

Research: The way you sleep could be “the strongest signal” of when you’ll pass away.
