The office of US First Lady Jill Biden stated today, Tuesday, that tests had verified that she had been infected with the Corona virus.
Jill Biden’s office director, Elizabeth Alexander, said in a statement that the first lady’s standard test resulted in a negative result on Monday, and then she suffered cold-like symptoms on Monday night.
The quick test (RPCR) came back negative again, she noted, but the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test came back positive, emphasising that the first lady is fully vaccinated, and she also has two booster doses.
The first lady has minimal symptoms and will begin taking the antiviral medicine Paxlovid, she said, adding that Biden is currently in a private residence in South Carolina and will return home after having two consecutive negative Covid tests.
Jill Biden’s virus infection comes just two weeks after President Joe Biden recovered from a rebound infection from Corona.
It has been observed that relapses can occur in patients who take the medicine Paxlovid when the patient’s test results for the virus are negative and then a positive test result arises after a few days.
