According to Crystalina Georgiva, general manager of the state, the negotiations between Egypt and the International Monetary Fund have progressed to a “quite advanced stage.” Georgiviva predicted that the two sides would come to an agreement at the expert level “quite soon,” adding that it was difficult to predict whether it would happen in the coming days or weeks.
Georgiviva also stated that Egypt will receive the “Great” programme, and that the outcome of the discussions will decide this.

BNB Bariba predicted that Egypt would get between $3 and $5 billion, but Goldman Sachs predicted that the loan’s value may exceed $15 billion. A number of authorities, including Finance Minister Mohamed Moait, criticised Goldman Sachs’ estimate, saying that it was greatly inflated.

In an effort to obtain financial support from the IMF in the wake of the economic shocks brought on by the Russian-Ukrainian war and the high interest rates in major nations, Egypt has been in negotiations with the Fund since March. It has been said before that the negotiations are in their “final stages” or would be finished “soon”.

The most recent outcomes of the talks between Egypt and the IMF are near.
