The high cost of eggs, which is reflected in the prices of raw materials like feed and energy, as well as some educators being away from production during that time, were revealed by Engineer Abdel Moneim Khalil, Head of the Internal Trade Sector at the Ministry of Supply. By offering quantities of table eggs through stalls, ports, and complexes of the three ministries at discounted prices, the Ministry of Supply, in collaboration with the Ministries of Agriculture and Interior, is working to limit the high prices of eggs, Khalil assured citizens during his statements to “Al-Fajr.”
According to Abdel Moneim Khalil, the price of an egg will cost between 70 and 75 pounds for a carton. The pricing of eggs offered by the supply, agricultural, and safety outlets will differ by roughly 10 pounds each serving from their theory of markets.
Khalil emphasised that the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade works to regulate market prices while also supplying commodities at lower prices and ensuring that everyone has access to supplies.
On the other hand, Dr.
Hisham Hussein, Secretary of the Suggestions and Complaints Committee in the House of Representatives, submitted a briefing request to the government represented in the ministries of Trade and Industry and Agriculture, to determine the reasons for the unprecedented rise in feed prices and the consequent high prices of eggs.
According to Hussein, only yellow corn has the facilities for the release of some feed derivatives, while the remainder of the feed derivatives are subject to customs restrictions.
