Sebastian Lecorno, the French minister of defence, declared on Saturday that his nation will train “up to 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers” there.
He explained in an interview with the newspaper “Le Parisien”, that these soldiers “will join our units for several weeks,” according to the agency “France Press”.
The three stages of training would cover “public fighters training,” “then special demands of Ukrainians such as logistics,” and “a third level of training in the equipment we provided,” he added, emphasising that the training will also address these needs.

In addition, citing a statement made by President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday in this regard, the Minister of Defense announced that France will transfer Ukraine’s “Crotall” air defence systems.
He pointed out that the number of “Crotall” anti -aircraft systems that will be sent to Kyiv “is determined with the Ukrainians”, and its number “will be important to allow them to protect their atmosphere.
The objective is to finish the (delivery) process within the next two months, he noted.
