The Yemeni government holds the Houthis responsible for the death of more than 18 children sick in Sana’a

News from Al-Madinah: The internationally recognized Yemeni government, on Saturday, the Houthi group Ansar Allah, held fully responsible for the death of more than 18 children of leukemia, as a result of receiving an expired chemical dose in the capital, Sanaa.

The Minister of Information, Muammar Al-Iryani, stated in a statement carried by the official news agency, Saba, that the reports confirm that the Houthi militia distributed a dose of expired medications. These medications had been obtained for free from the World Health Organization and other donor organisations, and part of them had been sold. They were then stored in other quantities for extended periods of time before she manipulated the completion date and distributed them to hospitals.

Al-Iryani issued a warning against continuing “the Houthi militia’s efforts to obstruct the delivery of drugs provided for free from international organisations to treat incurable diseases, such as cancer, and selling them on the black market in order to make significant profits, as well as to pave the way for the smuggled drug companies owned by Houthi leaders, which doubled the suffering of patients.

Al-Arani urged the international community, the United Nations, and international organisations, including the World Health Organization, to launch an immediate investigation into the incident, find and detain those responsible, end the limitations on the Houthi militia’s use of medical grants and the smuggling of tainted and outdated medications through businesses run by Houthi leaders.

The Houthi government’s (unrecognised) Ministry of Health reported yesterday, Thursday, that 19 children with leukaemia at Kuwait Hospital, aged 3 to 15, have experienced difficulties after taking a medication that was smuggled into a private pharmacy.
Due to the blockade put on the nation and the failure to allow the arrival of biological leukaemia medicines, the Houthis blamed the coalition for this.
