Egypt’s Ahmed Magdy serves as one of the 5 EU Water Goodwill Ambassadors

Ahmed Magdy, a celebrity from Egypt, was chosen as one of the five EU Water Goodwill Ambassadors.
Magdy said, “I hope my new role will allow me to contribute to all the efforts to better the lives of people in Egypt and the region. I am delighted and honoured to have been nominated as EU Water Goodwill Ambassador to assist provide visibility to EU efforts and investments in the water sector.
The five famous Egyptian media and cultural figures who serve as EU Water Goodwill Ambassadors are Mr.

Ahmed Magdy, Arwa Gouda, Lamia Radi, Samir Omar, and Dr. Amr El-Shobaki.
The Ambassadors’ crucial task will be to raise awareness of Egypt’s urgent need for water conservation and to foster a shared understanding of how water should be used and managed.
The prominent personalities will also highlight EU efforts to improve the lives of millions of Egyptians by creating jobs in the water sector and preserving valuable resources.

This year, climate and the environment are the main themes to emphasise the EU’s commitment to a green, sustainable, and inclusive transition.
This is appropriate because Egypt is preparing to host the historic COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh in November 2022. The event will place a strong emphasis on youth because 2022 is the EU Year of the Youth.
Ahmed Magdy is an actor, writer, and producer and the CEO of Garage Art Production.

As a filmmaker, Magdy has produced a number of noteworthy works, the standout of which being THE GIRAFFE (2018). Moreover, he is an environmentalist, animal rights activist, and UNFPA champion who boasts an impressive repertoire in the industry.

As an actor, Magdy took part in several highly-acclaimed films like the award-winning MICROPHONE (2010), THE GATE OF DEPARTURE (2015), MAWLANA (2016), and the award-winning ALI, THE GOAT, AND IBRAHIM (2016) for which Magdy won the Best Actor award at the 6th TrophéesFrancophones du Cinéma in Sénégal among many other memorable works. Magdy was also chosen to serve on the RFF-Revart Film Festival jury.

RFF, which has been hailed as Egypt’s first online vertical festival, strives to give filmmakers a contemporary perspective on creativity during the COVID-19 crisis.
Magdy made multiple appearances in popular dramas in 2021, such as QASR EL NIL and BENT EL SULTAN. While in 2022, he starred in EL ANESA FARAH 5, in addition to his latest work the TV series THE DEVIL’S PROMISE, by Colin Teague,starring Amr Yousef..
