Night protests in Tehran … and the death toll from 233

Night demonstrations began on Saturday night in Tehran’s Nazi Abad area as the country’s protests entered their fifth week. Iran International, a network, claims.
Since the protests began to encroach on Iranian towns approximately a month ago, at least 233 protesters have been slain by security forces, including 32 people under the age of 18, according to the Iranian human rights organisation Herna.

In the meantime, extensive strikes have been carried out in a number of cities in the west of the nation’s Kurdistan Governorate.
In Senndge, the Kurdistan region’s capital, as well as Mariwan, Saqz, and other places, the stores and markets have shut their doors.
As Mariwan joined the action and closed its stores amid calls for a countrywide strike that fully crippled the movement, videos showed closed shops in Saqz and markets without merchants as well.

In Tehran, students from the University of Ferchkan and the Free University also participated in a large demonstration, chanting anti-authoritarian slogans and the phrase “Woman of the Hayat of Freedom,” which has been used by protesters across the nation since the movement’s inception about a month ago.

Activists have been urged to participate in a national uprising today, Saturday, along with youth groups in Ahvaz, Tehran, Isfahan, Tabriz, and other cities throughout the previous several days.
It is significant that Amini’s death, which occurred on September 16 three days after her detention by the Ethics Police and subsequent transfer to a Tehran hospital, ignited enormous protests across the nation that have not yet dissipated.

In order to surround the demonstrators and stop the spread of calls for demonstrations, the authorities periodically cut off Internet access from mobile phones.
The officials also accused the demonstrators of dependency abroad, and betrayed them, while the security forces arrested hundreds, including university students and school students.

The Iranian Human Rights Organization stated in a report released on October 12 that at least 233 protestors were killed as a result of the violence used by the security forces.
