The declaration of Algeria and the reaction of the Palestinian factions to end the division and unify the Palestinian ranks, as well as their signing of the “Declaration of Algeria” document, were praised by the Arab Parliament as a positive and significant step as well as a step in the right direction toward restoring Palestinian national unity and the Palestinian reunification.
The Arab Parliament also stated that the Algerian declaration serves as a talking point for the Palestinian position and is a deposit of the pretexts, plans, and actions of the current occupation force in order to launch a serious and genuine political process that will result in the termination of the occupation and the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
The parliament added in a statement that this announcement was made in response to Algeria’s efforts, which were successful in bringing together and mending the divide between the Palestinian brothers. The parliament praised Algeria’s efforts, as well as those of the Arab nations in this matter, particularly The Arab Republic of Egypt, and the development of a true partnership between the two parties.
The Arab Parliament reaffirmed its support for the State of Algeria’s efforts in the matter of Palestinian national reconciliation and urged the Palestinian factions to work diligently to put the Declaration of Algeria’s provisions into practise in order to regain the unified Palestinian position necessary to address the major issues facing the Palestinian issue.
