Manchester City defender Kyle Walker stressed that he will fully recover from a thigh injury before the announcement of the England squad that will participate in the 2022 World Cup football finals in Qatar later this year.
Walker, 32, underwent surgery earlier this month after suffering an injury in the Premier League match between his local Manchester United and Manchester City, which Manchester City won 6-3.
Walker represented England in 70 international games and was a crucial member of the team that advanced to the World Cup quarterfinals and the 2020 European Championship.
In remarks to the British Broadcasting Authority (BBC) on Friday, Walker said, “The most important thing for me is to return to the England team. I have faith in your readiness to compete in the World Cup Finals.

Although there may be some challenges along the way, I hope to be selected for the squad.
Before announcing the team in advance of the Qatar finals, Walker said that he had surgery the day after becoming hurt to increase his chances of recovering.
With Rice Jones’ World Cup participation uncertain owing to a knee injury and Liverpool star Trent Alexander Arnold dealing with some issues lately, Walker’s comeback will give the England national team an alternative in the left defence position.
On November 21, Group Two’s England faces Iran for the first time in its World Cup history.
Walker is optimistic about competing in the World Cup.
