Jeremy Hunt, the newly appointed finance minister of the United Kingdom, announced today, Saturday, that while some taxes will rise and government expenditure will rise less than anticipated, tough choices must be made in order to restore Britain’s financial integrity.

He told Sky News that “certain taxes will not be cut by the pace that people desire, and some taxes will grow, it will be difficult,” adding that “spending will not rise to the level that people want because all government departments must increase their competencies more than they were planning.
