According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Ukrainian President welcomed the call by congratulating the Crown Prince on his position as prime minister and by expressing his appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s support of the General Assembly’s decision.
The Crown Prince, for his part, emphasised that the Kingdom’s support for adhering to the established principles in the United Nations Charter and International Law, as well as its affirmation of respect for the sovereignty of states, the principles of good neighbourliness, and the resolution of conflicts through peaceful means, was the driving force behind the Kingdom’s vote in favour of the resolution.
The president of Ukraine further expressed his gratitude and admiration for Prince Muhammad bin Salman’s commitment to carry on with the crisis-resolution mediation efforts.
In light of the crisis that the country is experiencing, he expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Crown Prince for the Saudi leadership’s decision to provide an additional humanitarian aid package for Ukraine worth $400 million. He emphasised that this humanitarian aid is proof of what the Crown Prince provides to contribute to reducing human suffering, and the Ukrainian people will not turn away from this.
The Saudi crown prince reiterated the Saudi Arabian government’s support for any measure that deters further escalation and its willingness to continue mediating the situation.
