Biden: Iran must stop violence against its citizens

When Iran’s protests entered their fifth week, US President Joe Biden said he was “amazed” by the large-scale rallies that had been taking place and urged Iran to stop using violence against its own people.
“I want you to know that we are standing alongside citizens, and Iran’s courageous women,” Biden added during a speech today, Saturday, in one of the colleges of the city of Erfen in California.

In addition, he said, “I was shocked to learn of the protests in Iran. I believe that I have awoken something that won’t be disturbed for a very long time.”
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinkkin revealed on Friday that Washington was putting together plans to make it easier for the demonstrators to contact with people abroad.

During his meeting with Iranian activists, in Washington, he said that the American administration is working on a license that allows the provision of technology that would allow the Iranians to communicate with each other and with the outside world, and to circumvent the systematic closure of the Internet. without going into further depth.

Blinken also reaffirmed his nation’s support for the rallies against the Iranian government while citing the sanctions put in place by Washington on those in charge of repressing the demonstrations.
The Washington Foreign Minister also reminded that the United States imposed sanctions on the so -called “religious police” in Iran, which caused the killing of the young woman, Muhsa Amini, on September 16.

It is noteworthy that since Amini’s passing, anger has been sparked by a number of issues, including the limitations placed on individual freedoms and the stringent regulations governing women’s attire, as well as the Iranian people’s dire living and economic conditions, not to mention the rigid regulations imposed by the country’s political system as a whole.
