Putin calls on the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia to hold a meeting in Moscow and Baku accusing Macron of bias.

News from Al-Madinah: The Russian President Vladimir Putin invited Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nicole Pashinian to a meeting in Russia, while the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry accused French President Emmanuel Macron of partiality in Armenia in the Naguration case Qara Bagh.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry condemned – in a statement – the French President’s statements in which he saw that Russia was “serving the interests” of Azerbaijan to weaken Armenia in the conflict of the Nagurani region of Qara Bagh.
In the statement, he criticised the French president’s remarks, calling them “inappropriate and unfair.”

In response to remarks made by his French colleague, who charged Moscow with attempting to destabilise the Caucasus, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday that Emmanuel Macron does not comprehend the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Nagorni Qara Bagh.

“I think there is no understanding of the conflict in these statements, and for France’s information about the position of the parties,” said the Russian president, at the summit of the former Soviet Union in Kazakhstan.
The French president’s comments are “incorrect and inappropriate,” he continued, adding that he will bring up the subject once more with him “if the time arises.”

I am happy to invite the presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia to a meeting in Moscow, Putin said in a related context on the sidelines of the Association of Independent Countries Summit.
Putin said the meeting may take place at any time and anywhere, including Sochi, Moscow, or St. Petersburg.
Putin believed that it was important to try to resolve the disputes between the two nations.

79 Azerbaijani soldiers and at least 135 Armenian soldiers were killed in border battles that broke out last month, according to the defence ministries of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The war broke out on September 27, 2020, when the Azerbaijani army launched a campaign to free its occupied territory in the Qara Bagh region following an attack by the Armenian army against civilised areas. These battles are the most intense since then.

Russia reported in November of the same year that Azerbaijan and Armenia had signed a cease-fire deal, which stipulated that Baku would retake control of a number of provinces that were under the authority of its neighbour after ferocious combat lasting 44 days.
