Uganda confirms that Ebola infection does not reach the capital

The Ugandan authorities insisted that Kampala is still immune to Ebola, which killed 19 people across the country, despite making sure that two people were injured in the virus in the capital.
The serious illness virus has been linked to 58 confirmed injuries, according to the Ministry of Health, since its initial breakout was discovered in the Mobundi (Central) region on September 20.

Only one death in Kampala was recorded for a 45 -year -old man who fled Mobundi after the death of one of his relatives, and sought to obtain a sorcerer’s help before he went to the capital where he died.
The virus was verified to have injured his wife shortly after her delivery in a clinic in the capital, which is 1. 5 people, the health officials said on Thursday.

The woman and her husband exposed the virus in Mobundi, and despite the recent incidence, Kampala is still free of Ebola, according to Minister of Health Jane Roth Asing.
The minister told reporters on Thursday, “I would like to say totally explicitly that this does not mean that Ebola is rampant in Kampala.”
Health officials did not comment on the situation of the infant, which was given by the affected woman.

The staff who attended the birth, according to the minister of health, are being kept under medical supervision in a health isolation facility at Kampala Main Hospital for the next 21 days.
The most typical signs of Ebola, which is spread by bodily fluids, include fever, vomiting, bleeding, and diarrhoea.
Controlling the epidemic breakout is challenging, particularly in urban areas.

To stop the virus from spreading, Prime Minister Yori Museveni ordered traditional medicine to stop treating those who had it. He also ordered the police to arrest anyone who refused to undergo health examinations but was thought to have been exposed to the illness.
The final Ebola death was reported in Uganda in 2019.
For the Ebola Sudan virus strain, which is presently circulating in Uganda, there is no vaccination.

According to the World Health Organization, the clinical trials to combat the strain are scheduled to begin in two weeks.

Uganda affirms that the capital is not infected with Ebola.
