The Minister of Culture, Dr. Nevin Al -Kilani, issued a decision to assign Dr. Ahmed Bahi El -Din Al -Assassi to conduct the work of the head of the Book Authority, in his capacity as Vice -President of the Authority, to succeed Dr. Haitham Al -Hajj Ali.

Since December 1, 2015, Haitham Al-Hajj Ali has held the position of Chairman of the General Book Authority. From November 27, 2016 until April 23, 2017, he also held the role of Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Culture.
