To resolve the issue of violations in the state’s air quality and noncompliance with the requirements for issuing certifications, Stelins will pay $5.6 million.
Stelins will pay a civil fine of $2. 8 million to California before spending another $2. 8 million to provide electric buses for use in schools along the United States’ southern coast basin. The Air Resources Council claims that because of the company’s cooperation, the fine has been significantly reduced.

This is FCA’s second air quality settlement in California since 2019.
