Putin invites Central Asian countries to join Russia’s projects to replace imports with national products

Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, has urged Central Asian nations to participate in his nation’s initiatives to replace imports with domestic goods.
“We are interested in joining your countries with large -scale Russian initiatives, as they are being completed to replace imports with national products and other programs and projects,” Putin said – during the meeting of the “Russia – Central Asia” summit, today, Friday.

The Russian president added: “I am sure that this will be interesting to develop all our economies and gain new competencies. ”
He also advised considering establishing a scientific research facility inside the framework of the Association of Independent Countries, he stated.

Today, Astana played host to the first “Russia – Central Asia” summit, which Moscow had suggested organising in honour of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Russia and all five of the region’s nations.
