Russian forces continue to advance in Donetsk .. and Vagner is participating

Russian forces have renewed momentum weeks after losing ground in the eastern Ukrainian province of Donetsk and Lugansk.
According to information released by British intelligence today, Friday, fighters supported by Russia have advanced tactically over the previous three days toward the centre of the important Donetsk area town of Bakhmout and are expected to enter the settlements to the south of the town.

The British Ministry of Defense also stated in its daily intelligence that the private military group known as the “Wagner” group, which is founded by Yevgeni Brigujin, known as the Putin Cook, will continue to participate mostly in the fighting within Bakhmout.
Additionally, she made it apparent that although Russia was continuing its offensive activities in the Donbas region, she observed that it was moving “extremely slowly.”

This happened after Donetsk separatists claimed yesterday on the messaging service Telegram that Russian forces had seized control of the villages of Obiteni and Ivangrad, which are situated just south of Battamout.

It is noteworthy that Bakhmot, which the Russians have been attempting to control since last August, is located on a major road that connects to the cities of Slovensk, which includes water desalination plants, and is regarded as the main artery that nourishes the area with drinking water, in addition to the city of Karamatorsk, within the industrial region of Donbas that has not been subject to Russian control. Russian military have complete control over it.

The past weeks have witnessed progress for the Ukrainian forces as a result of a counter -attack that they launched to restore lands that have been under Russian control for months, and have already managed to restore many towns in the northeast and south.
The Russian forces later revealed that they had left some areas in the east and south so that they might reunite and launch a counterattack.

In order to establish a land corridor between the East and the South in the Crimea, which Russia annexed to its territory in 2014, the Russians want to control the entire Donbass Basin.

Vagner is taking part as Russian forces continue to push in Donetsk.
