Poll: Fear of the high cost of living is the first concern in Germany

According to the findings of a representative study conducted in Germany, people’s top worry is their dread of the country’s high cost of living.
Two-thirds of Germans (67%) placed dread of the high expense of living at the top of their list of sources of anxiety, up nine points from the next source, according to the long-term poll titled “German Concerns.”

The percentage of those who were concerned about the high cost of living reached in the study conducted last year to 50%, to occupy this concern for the second place among the largest sources of concern with the Germans at the time after concern about the high taxes imposed or reduce subsidies due to Corona.
2,400 persons who are eligible to vote were involved in the study, which was performed from June 13 to August 23.

Grisha Provinovich, the study’s project manager, stated before the findings were revealed that the significant increase of 17 percentage points is merely an observation.
It is noteworthy that these study data has been investigating every year since 1992 for the benefit of “R+in” Insurance, and it is one of the largest insurance companies in Germany.

Since the start of the Russian assault on Ukraine, prices in Germany have climbed dramatically, particularly the prices of gasoline and food. The study revealed the degree to which German citizens are concerned about these events.
Money was used to stop sources of worry in the centres from the second to the fifth of this year, and the worry about Germany getting involved in a war came in at number twelve with 42% (i.e.

outside the 10 sites), but the study’s directors acknowledged that there was a significant increase in fear of this issue from a year earlier.
The subjects are to be rated on a scale from 1 (which displays no fear) to 7 (which expresses a very high degree of terror), according to the study’s authors.
The second place came in the current year list, the fear of the inability to pay the housing costs by 58%.

It is noteworthy that this issue was added to the study’s question for the first time this year, followed by a marginally higher percentage (57%) fear of the economy getting worse. Last year, this issue ranked tenth on the list, but this year it moved up 17 percentage points, signalling a rise in anxiety.

The percentage of people who were concerned about greater taxes or reduced subsidies as a result of Corona was 52%, while 51% of people were concerned about the burden the European Union debt crisis would place on German taxpayers.

According to a survey, fear of the high cost of living is Germany’s top worry.
