Urgent .. the new Iraqi president assigns the Sudanese to form the government

Shi’a Al-Sudani, the newly elected president of Iraq, tasked Abdul Latif Rashid with creating the country’s new cabinet.
After a second voting round, the Iraqi Council of Representatives decided to elect Abdul Latif Rashid as President of the Republic today, Thursday. Rashid was elected with the votes of 162 deputies, compared to 99 votes for his outgoing president, Barham Saleh, while 8 were considered null and void.

The new Iraqi president was taking the constitutional oath before the House of Representatives raised his session after the election of Rashid.
Rashid is regarded as Iraq’s tenth president.

Barham Saleh, the outgoing president, commented on Rashid’s election as president of Iraq, saying, “I had my position as President of the Republic of Iraq, and I committed to insisting under the roof of patriotism as a path for my duties and supporting the path of reform for a country that is able to serve its citizens, and I will remain committed to these principles.

“With compassion and respect,” he said, “I congratulate the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdul Latif Rashid, and wish him success in all of his endeavours.

The Sudanese are given an urgent mission by the new president of Iraq to build the government.
