On the thirteenth of October 1972, the Flight 571 for the Uruguayan Air Force was heading from Montevideo in Uruguay, to Santiago in Chile, with a “Rakhbi” team on board, before the plane crashed in the Andes Mountains in the Argentine Mandosa region.
There were more than 40 passengers and five crew members on board; of them, 29 passengers and the five crew members perished in the crash.
Regarding the passengers who were drafted for survival, they endured a difficult climate and 72 days of total isolation from the outside world in the Andes Mountains.
The survivors gathered all the debris and bags that could be used, built a wall-like structure out of it to replace the holes in the construction of the remaining plane, and took care of it.

Helicopters were dispatched to the scene of the disaster on December 22nd, 1972, and half of the survivors were saved and taken to hospitals for treatment, making this story one of the most illustrious dramatic flights in human history.
