With the theme “We read to rise” and the involvement of 50 publishing houses, the activities of the Syrian Book Fair were opened yesterday evening in the Syrian Al-Assad Library in Damascus.
The exhibition focuses on children’s books that have a distinctive presence in terms of how widely they are distributed throughout the books on display. Twelve publishing houses with expertise in this area participate in the exhibition and offer contemporary experiences and books on the level of themes, concepts, printing, and colours.
The exhibition will witness many different cultural and artistic activities accompanying, including the presentation of six cinematic films from the latest Syrian productions, two concerts, and intellectual and cultural seminars, and a number of researchers, thinkers and writers will participate in these activities, in addition to holding many books signing parties for a number of writers.
