Zellinski calls on France and Italy for air defenses

Voludimir Zellinski, the president of Ukraine, reiterated his intention to establish an international tribunal to judge Moscow on Thursday before the parliamentarians of the Council of Europe. He called on France and Italy to give Ukraine air defences.

Zelinski stated in a video taken at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe that due to the atrocities perpetrated during this conflict, Russia should be designated as an aggressor state, and every murderer and jahli must be brought to court.

In reference to a particular international role to set up a special court to prosecute Russia and implement the rules of international law, as he called it, the Ukrainian President said that the relevant legal instruments must be formed to accomplish so.
A long-term peace must be guaranteed, he added, noting that Russia is opposed to all forms of communication.

Given that this is a fact that needs to be acknowledged at all legal and political levels, he noted that Moscow prefers to use the language of terrorism.
Additionally, he attacked the Council of Europe for maintaining ties with Russia following the inclusion of Crimea in 2014.
Additionally, he stated that the pretext of conversation with Russia should not be used to conceal some aspects of this war or to cover up the facts.

In a request for cooperation from the Europeans, Zellinski stated that the Council of Europe will lead the charge in seeking accountability and restitution for the severe losses sustained during this war.
The Ukrainian president saw that the isolation of Russia at the diplomatic level is important, especially since it will appear to the Russian people that this war will cost him dearly.

To safeguard all of Ukrainian airspace, it is notable that Zellinski studied more military forms of air defence.
He made the point that Ukraine has its own defences, but they are insufficient.
In an effort to recruit more France and Italy for air defence, he also emphasised that the means are insufficient despite German help and American assurances.
We only have 10% of what we need, he declared in his closing statement.
