Lebanese President Michel Aoun discussed, during two phone calls with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and Prime Minister Naguib Mikati, the file of demarcating the South Naval Borders with Israel, in light of the final formula sent by the American mediator Ameos Hakschin to Lebanese officials a few days ago.
In their meeting yesterday, Aoun and Mikati affirmed that the final text of the border demarcation is acceptable to Lebanon and discussed it.
Mikati confirmed the effectiveness of Hakschin’s mediation efforts, which resulted in a deal between Lebanon and Israel on the definition of the maritime border, enabling Lebanon to begin oil and gas exploration in its unpolluted waters.
The marine border demarcation issue with Israel is discussed by the president of Lebanon with the heads of the House of Representatives and the government.
