The new Italian parliament meets in Rome for the first time today

Today in Rome, the newly elected members of the two houses of the Italian parliament will convene for the first time.
The opening sessions are the initial business arrangement. With a total of 400 members in the House of Representatives and 206 in the Senate, the right-wing alliance headed by election victor Georgia Meloni holds a majority.

The coalition also comprises the right-wing Popular Popular League and the conservative “Forza Italy” party in addition to the extreme right-wing “Italy Brothers” party.
More lawmakers represent “Italy Brothers” inside the camp than the “League” and “Forza Italy” put combined.
The two legislative rooms may still be used for the major election operations after Thursday. After that, the leaders of parliamentary groups will be announced, but perhaps not before the weekend.
