The United Nations resolution, which was voted with a strong majority and opposed Russia’s inclusion of territories in Ukraine, was characterised by US Vice President Joe Biden as a warning to Moscow that it could not obliterate a sovereign state from the map.
In a statement, Biden said: “Countries from every region, big and small, representing a wide range of views and governments, cast their votes today (Wednesday).” ..
to uphold the UN Charter and denounce Russia’s illegitimate effort to annex Ukrainian territories using force.”
Added him: “Everyone understands the risks of this confrontation, and as a result, the world has made it quite apparent that Russia cannot remove a sovereign state off the globe. By using force, Russia cannot alter the borders. Russia cannot seize the lands of another country as if it is its own.

“After almost eight months of this battle, the world has just proved that he was more united, and more designed than ever, Russia’s culpability for its transgressions,” the US President stated.
By a vote of 143 to 5, with 35 nations abstaining, the UN General Assembly on Wednesday denounced Russia’s decision to annex the eastern Ukrainian regions of Donetsk, Khairsson, Luhansk, and Zaburigia.
The world has let Russia know that it cannot obliterate a sovereign state from the map, according to Biden.
