Facebook owner Meta unveils $1,500 VR headset: Will it sell?

A top-tier virtual reality headgear was presented by Facebook parent company Meta on Tuesday in the hopes that users would soon be able to work and play in the “metaverse,” a still-mysterious space.

High-resolution sensors, eye tracking, and so-called “natural facial expressions” that mimic the wearer’s facial movements are all features of the $1,500 Meta Quest Pro headset. These features enable users to see mixed virtual and augmented reality in full colour and make their avatars appear genuine when interacting with other avatars in virtual-reality environments.
Formerly known as Facebook, Meta is currently undergoing a corporate change that will take years to finish, according to the company.

It aspires to advance from being a provider of social platforms to becoming the dominant force in the metaverse, a young virtual reality that resembles the internet brought to life or at least portrayed in 3D.
According to CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the metaverse is an immersive virtual environment that users can virtually “experience” as opposed to simply seeing it on a screen. The corporation is spending billions on plans for the metaverse, which probably won’t be repaid for many years.

Although some players already prefer VR headgear, Meta is aware that this won’t be sufficient to spread awareness of the metaverse. As a result, it has focused its eyes on office and home office workers.
According to Rolf Illenberger, founder and managing director of VRdirect, which creates VR environments for enterprises, “Meta is marketing the new Meta Quest Pro headset as an alternative to utilising a laptop.”

Operating in the metaverse’s virtual worlds, he continued, is still “quite a reach” for enterprises.
Additionally, Meta revealed that the metaverse avatars would soon have legs, which is an essential feature that has been absent since the avatars’ release last year.

Will anyone buy Meta’s new $1,500 VR headgear, which is owned by Facebook?
