Today, Wednesday, a security source in Iraq claimed that the “Kormore” gas field, which is near the Sulaymaniyah Governorate in northern Iraq, was hit by Katyusha missiles.
The security source said – according to the Iraqi satellite “Alsumaria News” channel – that “Katyusha’s missiles fell within the vicinity of the Kormore field in the Jammal district in the Sulaymaniyah Governorate.

While the bodies responsible for the targeting activities were not identified, the gas field was repeatedly exposed to missile strikes.
And Kormore is one of the villages of Qadir Karam district, in the Jammal district, Sulaymaniyah Governorate, which is one of the areas rich in natural resources, where Dana Gas and the Emirati Hilal operate.

The Kormore field is surrounded by three security protection departments, “The first and second security companies are private companies, and the third district is the responsibility of the Peshmerga forces. ”
In accordance with a contract reached in 2007 with the Kurdistan Region authorities, Dana Gas Company produces, markets, and sells gas and oil from the Kormore and Gamal fields in the area.
