The Philippines raises the level of warning from the Polosan Mountain Volcano

The level of alert from the Polosan Mountain Volcano in the Sorsogon Province has been elevated, according to a statement made today, Wednesday, by the Philippine Institute for Volcanology and Seismology.

According to the ABS-BP channel, the 126 weak and superficial volcanic tremors that have been registered since yesterday, along with other disturbances like land deformation, rising volcanic carbon dioxide concentrations, and sulphur odour emissions, led the Philippine authorities to raise the zero-level warning to the first level.

Citizens are prohibited from approaching the mountain at a distance of four kilometres, according to the current level of warning, while caution is required at a distance of two kilometres.
President Ferdinand Marcos, on his part, reassured the populace that all emergency services and the pertinent authorities are prepared and able to guarantee the safety and security of individuals.

The degree of alert from the Polosan Mountain Volcano is increased in the Philippines.
