The Swiss Ambassador to Egypt, iPhone Bauman, was received by Engineer Mahmoud Esmat to explore ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two nations in the business and investment sectors.
The minister greeted the ambassador and emphasised that the Ministry of Public Business Sector and Swiss enterprises were welcome to collaborate, particularly in light of the strong ties that unite the two nations.
In order to support the idea that the private sector plays an important role in economic development and the achievement of industrial integration, “Esmat” reviewed a number of projects during the meeting that are implemented in subsidiaries and have investment opportunities available to the private sector, whether local or foreign.
For his part, the ambassador reaffirmed that his nation was eager to increase its investments in Egypt, which holds a special place for the Swiss investor, especially given that it serves as a significant export hub for the African continent’s markets.
In the massive project adopted by the Ministry of Public Business Sector to develop spinning and textile companies, “Baumann” praised the Swiss companies’ trustworthiness and cooperation with a number of them in the supply of cutting-edge machinery. The first shipments of these machines arrived at Misr Spinning and Weaving Company in Mahalla Al-Kubra last August.
