The World Health Director expresses his concern about the cholera outbreak in Haiti

Dr. Tadros Adhanum, the director general of the World Health Organization, highlighted the organization’s grave worry on the location of cholera epidemics in Hayiti Port or Prince’s capital and the neighbouring territories.

The Director General of the World Health Organization confirmed – at a press conference today at the organization’s headquarters on the most important current health challenges in the world – that, according to the figures of the Ministry of Health in Haiti, the number of cases until yesterday reached 224 cases suspended by its injury, in addition to 16 deaths, in addition to cholera outbreaks 39 cases were suspended from the national penitentiary in the nation’s capital due to injuries, and 9 people passed away.

Adhanoum stated that the health situation in the flood-affected areas of Pakistan is getting worse as malaria spread to 32 regions, while Dr. Tadros warned that the situation is likely to get worse given the lack of preparedness of the international community. He also appealed to international donors for assistance.

He also stated that the world is in a different situation than it was 22 months ago when the Corona virus spread and a global health emergency was declared because it now has all the resources necessary to combat the virus and end the emergency situation in all countries, and he issued a warning.

Regarding the Ebola virus outbreak in Uganda, Adhanum stated that the organisation continues to assist the government there in combating the disease’s spread in 5 provinces, and that as of right now, there have been 54 confirmed injuries, 20 cases where injuries are suspected, 39 fatalities, and 660 communications with injured people are being monitored.

Tadros emphasised that the organisation is currently concentrating on the help of the Ugandan government to curb fascism in order to prevent it from spreading to the districts and neighbouring nations.
